Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his visit to the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, but he remains captivated by the beauty of the enchanting islands. Sharing some stunning pictures from his visit on Thursday, PM Modi expressed that he is still amazed by the breathtaking beauty of the islands and the incredible warmth of the people there. During his time in the Union Territory, the Prime Minister not only made some bold initiatives but also shared pictures from his snorkeling experience.
Declaring his early morning stroll along the historic seashores as a “moment of pure joy,” Prime Minister talked about his experiences and expressed his amazement at the islands’ breathtaking beauty. He conveyed his amazement for the breathtaking scenery of the islands and the extraordinary energy of the locals.
Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth over ₹1,150 crores in Lakshadweep. He launched the Kochi-Lakshadweep Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI-SOFC), aiming to address the issue of slow internet speed in the Union Territory.

Furthermore, PM Modi initiated the operation of a Low-Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) facility, designed to produce 150,000 liters of drinkable water daily with low energy consumption. Additionally, the inauguration of Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) ensures that every household in Agatti and Minicoy Islands can now have access to functional tap connections.
PM Modi unveiled Lakshadweep’s first battery-supported solar energy project in Kavaratti. Other development projects include the revitalization of healthcare facilities in Kalpeni and the construction of five Model Anganwadi Centers (Nand Ghar) in Androth, Chetlat, Kadamatt, Agatti, and Minicoy islands.

During his tour to Agatti, Bangaram, and Kavaratti, PM Modi explored various projects and shared glimpses of his two-day journey on ‘X.’ He emphasized, “In Lakshadweep, our focus is to uplift lives through advanced development. PM Modi had the opportunity to engage in discussions with beneficiaries of various government schemes in Lakshadweep. “It is inspiring to directly witness how these initiatives are contributing to improved health, self-reliance, women empowerment, better agricultural practices, and much more,” he said in reflection on these exchanges.
