India vs. South Africa, U19 World Cup: Young Team India made history on Tuesday by securing a definitive victory against Proteas, entering the final of the Under 19 World Cup for a record 5th time. India’s young star Sachin Dhas led the resurgence with a splendid knock of 96 runs, guiding Team India to a modest target of 245 runs against South Africa in the first semi-final at Willowmoore Park.

India had a shaky start

While India had a shaky start chasing a modest target on Tuesday, Sachin Dhas (96) and captain Uday Saharan (81) forged a record-breaking partnership that rescued India from a precarious situation after an initial stumble.

South Africa’s Brave Fight

South African opener Luann-Dre Pretorius gave his team a good start, and everything seemed to be going well for the hosts, but Indian spinners Mushir Khan, Murugan Abhishek, and Priyanshu Moliya turned the game around, dismantling the South African batting lineup like a house of cards.

India maintained continuous pressure on the hosts throughout the innings and never let the pace slacken. Despite their efforts, South Africa became the first team in the tournament to cross the 170-run mark against India and eventually posted a total score of 244/7 in their allotted 50 overs.

India’s dominance in U19 World so far

Team India has maintained its dominance in the Under-19 World Cup so far, securing victories by margins of over 200 runs in all three matches. The defending champions entered Willowmoore Park as favorites and continued their stronghold, despite starting from the bottom.

Kids are doing amazing things in every aspect of the game. Batsmen are making the world’s greatest bowlers’ nightmares come true, while bowlers are upsetting the best batting lineups. India seems poised for a comfortable clash against Australia or Pakistan in the final of the U19 World Cup.
