Stevie Wonder’s Heartfelt Tribute to Toni Bennett
Stevie Wonder paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend Toni Bennett during the annual memorial segment, who passed away in July 2023 at the age of 96. Reflecting on his admiration for Toni, Stevie said, “I remember hearing Toni Bennett sing ‘For Once in My Life’ when I was around 13 or 14. The beautiful thing, though, is that I got to sing with someone I’d loved for a very long time—not just because of his amazing voice, though that was unreal—but also because of his artistry, his love of art, his love of love in art, and his support of civil rights, peace, and unity.”
