“MS Dhoni Joins CSK’s IPL 2024 Camp in Chennai: A Royal Return for ‘Thala’ to His Kingdom”

MS Dhoni arrived in Chennai on Tuesday for the CSK preparatory camp ahead of IPL 2024. Before the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has joined Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni, who led CSK to their fifth IPL title, arrived in Chennai on Tuesday.

The iconic wicketkeeping maestro is set to kick off his training alongside fellow CSK teammates as they gear up for the forthcoming season.
CSK, the reigning champions, will kick off their IPL 2024 campaign with their opening match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chepauk Stadium on March 22.

The five-time IPL champion franchise shared updates on MS Dhoni’s arrival in the city on social media as their captain was welcomed and presented with a bouquet by Shubhankar.

Meanwhile, CSK has already started their preparatory camp on March 2 as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mukesh Choudhary, and Prashant Solanki have already begun training at Chepauk.

MS Dhoni’s knee surgery

The great captain played with a knee injury last season as he was seen struggling between the wickets at times. However, after leading CSK to their fifth title, he underwent knee surgery at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.
Dhoni was recently spotted at the pre-wedding party of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar, Gujarat. His wife Sakshi Dhoni was also present at the pre-wedding bash.

During the last season, fans showed their immense love for MS Dhoni as many believed it could be his last season. However, the 41-year-old confirmed his return for another season after defeating Gujarat Titans in the final. Speculations are rife that the upcoming edition might indeed be his last.

Dhoni’s new role?

Ahead of the new season, Dhoni, who is not very active on social media, hinted at a new role while expressing his excitement. He wrote on Facebook, “Can’t wait for the new season and new ‘role.’ Stay tuned.”

“Speaking to ANI recently, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan affirmed, ‘Dhoni has shown remarkable recovery from his knee injury.'” He is going through his rehabilitation programs, has started training. I am confident he will be fit to play by the start of the next IPL.”
Meanwhile, ahead of the upcoming season, CSK suffered a setback as their star opening batsman Devon Conway might miss the initial phase of the season due to a thumb injury suffered during the T20I series against Australia.
