Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, Sunita Kejriwal, who is currently in jail, held her first Lok Sabha election roadshow in the national capital on Saturday.

On Saturday, Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, had her first roadshow for the Lok Sabha election, supporting an East Delhi candidate for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Addressing party supporters, Sunita referred to Arvind Kejriwal as a “lion” and said that “no one can break him” or “make him bow down.”

“For a month now, they have forcibly imprisoned your Chief Minister and my husband. No court has yet declared them guilty. They say an investigation is ongoing. If the investigation takes 10 years, will they keep him in jail for that long? Earlier, people were sent to jail only after being declared guilty by the court, but they have brought a new system and say that they will keep him in jail until the investigation is complete. At the roadshow, Sunita spoke to the gathering through the sunroof of a car and declared, “This is tyranny.”
She said, “Kejriwal has been jailed because he built schools, provided free electricity, and opened neighborhood clinics… We will vote to remove tyranny and save democracy.”
Kejriwal’s health issues
On the insulin controversy surrounding Kejriwal, Sunita said that her husband has been a diabetic patient for 22 years and has been on insulin for the past 12 years. “He has been denied insulin in jail… Do they want to kill Arvind Kejriwal? I know you love him, and this is his problem. What is his fault?” she questioned.
Since Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, Sunita, a retired IRS officer, has been working as a communication medium between her husband, AAP, and its legislators. So far, she has organized three media briefings aimed at delivering Kejriwal’s message to the public.

In the coming days, she will campaign for AAP candidates in South Delhi and New Delhi constituencies as well as in Gujarat, Haryana, and Punjab.”
