What happened in Baltimore?

A container ship named ‘DALI’ was passing under the Patapsco River when it collided with one of the pillars of the bridge, causing the entire structure to fall into the water. Reuters reported, “There was no indication of terrorism.” Francis Scott Key Bridge was one of the three ways to cross Baltimore Harbor and handled 31,000 vehicles per day or 11.3 million vehicles per year.

After the collision, traffic was halted at the port. This is one of the smallest container ports on the East Coast, handling nearly ten percent of the containers passing through the ports of New York and New Jersey.
